Queen’s Death shocks the world

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away after her 70-year monarchy of England. She died peacefully after a long life.

The queen first took to the throne in 1952, where she was the longest reigning monarch England leader. She has lived through World War II, Hitler’s reign, and has met 13 US presidents. With a troubled history, people learned to love the queen and everything she has done throughout her tenure as Queen of England.

The royal family was hit hard by the news but knew this death would come. Her son King Charles said this about the death of the Queen, “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her loss would be “deeply felt” around the world, CNN reported. The new heir to the throne will be prince William, her grandson. 

The death of the Queen hot everyone hard, but some rejoiced about the Queens death. Some groups thought the Queens history of violence and colonists. People of color were really rejoicing, especially on twitter where they took to twitter celebrating the death. Brea Baker reported, “During her lifetime, Queen Elizabeth II maintained all of the remnants of colonization, from the diamonds that she wore to the wealth she exhibited.”

Another group affected by the Queens death was the Irish people. Irish and the English going back many days have had a feud, due to the potato famine. Although of the feud between the Irish and the English, the new King Charles plans on trying to restore relations with Ireland. Time reports that King Charles said he will “seek the welfare of all inhabitants” of Northern Ireland.

 Not just people were affected by the Queens death. Multiple English Premiere League games were rescheduled to reflect the Queens death. All games between September 9-11 were postponed due to the death and the funeral.

The funeral took place September 8, 2022. Even if the Queen had a good or bad impact on society, the death defiantly took the world by storm.
