Polar Dies in Midland Zoo in Sioux City from unknown an cause that is under investigated. Homer, the 16 year old polar bear was found floating in the pool of the polar bear exhibit at 7 a.m. less then an hour after his feeding.
Zoo director Chris P. Bacon went on to say “We will do everything in our power to determine how this bear died. Animal welfare and the preservation of species are our primary goals here at the zoo.”
Polar bears have been in the Midland Zoo since 1985.

The article itself needs to do more to assure readers the zoo is working in the best interest of its animals. Bacon’s quote is a good start. The stuff from Getty would be good.
