Jose Fernandez died Sunday morning in a boating accident late in the night on the coast of Miami after finding out his girlfriend was pregnant and he went out on the boat to celebrate with two friends. Jose Fernandez left the baseball world and sports world in shock. It made think about Jose’s legacy. Jose, a 24 year old, no where near ready to be put in the Hall of Fame. Jose may not have been a hall of famer, but he did leave a lasting legacy on the game of baseball. Baseball is in a time of dyer need for some personality, or fun. People say that Jose had fire. Jose pitched with a sense or cockiness which him fun to watch. Jose, when no pitching, would sit in the dugout and have a good time in front of the camera, he would dance, and he would also be cheering for the Marlins teams louder then any fan. Jose may be gone, but his legacy will live on forever. Overall this article is great no matter if you are a sports fan or not. This article will touch your heart and make you feel a certain way about sports that you haven’t felt in years. I would recommend this article to anybody and everybody. This article relates to the class because it is written with very short, and concise sentences and has pictures and videos in between paragraphs so you can see what they are talking about.

This article is about a rookie quarterback for the New England Patriots, Jacoby Brissett, who made his first career NFL start Monday night and is the first rookie to start at quarterback for the Patriots since Drew Bledsoe did back in 1993. The article talks about the game as a whole too. The Patriots won 27-0 over the Houston Texans who are known for having one of the best defenses in the league. LeGarrette Blount is also briefly mentioned for back-to-back breakout performances, where he had 105 rushing yards and 2 huge touchdowns. Overall, the article would be good for any typical sports fan. I was also impressed with how fast this article was written. It was on ESPN.com within 5 minutes of the game ending which is impressive, and extremely helpful considering I procrastinated on this assignment.

Scavenger Hunt

As I walked in the back door of the Library, I saw two young men sitting there. Their names were Zach and Chandler. I introduced myself as Hunter Davis and asked them if I could take a picture of them for a class and explain what the requirements were. Then after the picture I thanked them for letting me take the picture and asked them what they were doing. They were both waiting. Chandler was waiting for his next class to start and was just chilling with his legs up, playing a game on his phone. Zach was waiting for his friend to get out of the bathroom so they could head to the cafe together. Zach and his friend were studying for a test they have coming up.

Ten upperclassmen from East High suspended for one week. Students had a rough week at East High, where multiple things have caused an uproar. On Monday, students were said to say that they were protesting a suspension of 5 students from the previous week who were caught smoking marijuana in the school parking lot.

All this rambunctious behavior was following up by a food fight in the cafeteria Tuesday. And was follow up Wednesday with a false alarm sounded three times. Though the 10 students were found guilty. They still don’t know who did it and they are the leading candidates.

Reflection

2. The most difficult part of the story for me was trying to make it seem like an article and to make it seem like a research paper. I’ve always done papers based of research and just inform and talk about it. I have never had to make it interesting.

3. One specific revision I made was trying to make it not sound like it was from my perspective. I took out all the times I said “I” in my paper. I also fixed it so it wouldn’t say things such as, from this article I found out blank.

Josh Norman, a cornerback for the Washington Redskins that was signed this offseason to a 4-year, 75 million dollar contract, is being criticized immensely for not covering star wide receiver Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Norman is being criticized mostly by players in the NFL saying that if he is the best cornerback in the NFL, he should be able to guard more then just one side of the field. He should be able to leave the left side of the field and follow star receivers all over the field as they break the huddle for the play. I think that this article is pretty good, mostly because of the fact that it interest me and also shows you and inside of the world of sports from the player perspective. I also really like this article because I watched the football game and I was super confused with why Norman was not on the same side of the field as Brown ever. So overall this article was pretty good and I would definitely recommend it to any football fan.

Deflate Gate

Tom Brady and the court case known as “Deflategate” The Deflategate refers to a playoff game in which the New England Patriots and Tom Brady had played the entire game with footballs that were slightly deflated below the legal limit in a football game, which made it easier for the Patriots wide receivers to catch the football in the cold weather.

What Tom Brady can’t do for the next 30 days during his four-game suspension? An ESPN article from Snapchat explains how Brady isn’t allowed in the Patriot’s facilities for the entire length of the suspension. Brady isn’t allowed to have any contact with anybody within the organization. So if his best friend, Julian Edelman, a New England Patriot wide receiver, wants to come over to have dinner with Tom, he can’t. Brady isn’t allowed to text Bill Belichick about the previous game he watch the Patriots play and give them any pointers. Brady isn’t allowed to buy a ticket and go to a road Patriots as a fan. He can only watch them on television and play catch with his wife.

Tom Brady will accept the suspension from the NFL for tampering with the game balls in an AFC playoff game in 2014. “I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process.” Brady said that the day he announced at a press conference that he is not going to be taking the court case to the Supreme Court and would accept the four game suspension handed out by the NFL. This came only 8 months after U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman took away the original suspension away from Brady, allowing him to partake in the 2015 NFL season with the Patriots.

Timeline of the Deflategate from the AFC playoff game when the violation occurred, to present day where Tom Brady is now missing the first four weeks of the 2016 NFL regular season. The court case timeline went as stated on January 20th “The NFL found that all 11 footballs used by the Patriots were underinflated.” Later Brady went on to say in a news conference, “I would never do anything to break the rules.” Brady said this only two days after the NFL found out about the 11 deflated footballs. Brady’s head coach, Bill Belichick, has talked about the situation many times and has said that he is very confident in his back-up quarterback Jimmy Garropallo to start for the first four weeks if necessarily. The next six months were headlined by denial. The end of the timeline is headlined by July 15, 2016 when Brady announced on Facebook, that he would accept his four-game suspension and would be ready to play in week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
