Morningside College Honors Wes Brown as Student of the Week

A resident assistance, a basketball player, a track sprinter, a student government senator, and a sports broadcaster. These are just a few things that describes senior Wes Brown from West Des Moines, Iowa. Brown, 6 foot 8 inch man originally came to Morningside to play basketball, but quickly proved he was going to be more essential to the college then just dunking the basketball. Brown became Sports Director at KMSC, a radio station on campus as junior. Brown also because resident assistance in Dimmitt Hall his junior year as well. Brown then decided to hang up his basketball shoes and grab some track spikes as he joined the track team junior and became a vital 400 runner immediately. Brown is also a senator on Morningside’s Student Government as a representative for the senior class. Brown was also recognized by the student population for his popularity as he was voted on to the homecoming court his senior year as well.

    Paragraphs. The lead would be OK if this was a regular feature that people know to look for. Beginning with something more interesting would be a good move, though. Maybe some version of this: He quickly proved he was going to be more essential to the college then just dunking the basketball. Then you can go off on the frame of Wes as Swiss Army knife.
