Deflate Gate

Tom Brady and the court case known as “Deflategate” The Deflategate refers to a playoff game in which the New England Patriots and Tom Brady had played the entire game with footballs that were slightly deflated below the legal limit in a football game, which made it easier for the Patriots wide receivers to catch the football in the cold weather.

What Tom Brady can’t do for the next 30 days during his four-game suspension? An ESPN article from Snapchat explains how Brady isn’t allowed in the Patriot’s facilities for the entire length of the suspension. Brady isn’t allowed to have any contact with anybody within the organization. So if his best friend, Julian Edelman, a New England Patriot wide receiver, wants to come over to have dinner with Tom, he can’t. Brady isn’t allowed to text Bill Belichick about the previous game he watch the Patriots play and give them any pointers. Brady isn’t allowed to buy a ticket and go to a road Patriots as a fan. He can only watch them on television and play catch with his wife.

Tom Brady will accept the suspension from the NFL for tampering with the game balls in an AFC playoff game in 2014. “I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process.” Brady said that the day he announced at a press conference that he is not going to be taking the court case to the Supreme Court and would accept the four game suspension handed out by the NFL. This came only 8 months after U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman took away the original suspension away from Brady, allowing him to partake in the 2015 NFL season with the Patriots.

Timeline of the Deflategate from the AFC playoff game when the violation occurred, to present day where Tom Brady is now missing the first four weeks of the 2016 NFL regular season. The court case timeline went as stated on January 20th “The NFL found that all 11 footballs used by the Patriots were underinflated.” Later Brady went on to say in a news conference, “I would never do anything to break the rules.” Brady said this only two days after the NFL found out about the 11 deflated footballs. Brady’s head coach, Bill Belichick, has talked about the situation many times and has said that he is very confident in his back-up quarterback Jimmy Garropallo to start for the first four weeks if necessarily. The next six months were headlined by denial. The end of the timeline is headlined by July 15, 2016 when Brady announced on Facebook, that he would accept his four-game suspension and would be ready to play in week 5 against the Cleveland Browns.
