The Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a local man. The deceased is Moyer Quick, 65, of South Sioux City. He was killed in a collision of two cars two miles east of Sioux City on Highway 20 when the vechicle he was driving collided with a truck driven by Randy Radin, 17, of Sioux City at 11am yesterday morning. Three people were transported by ambulance to Marian Health Center. The injured included two passengers in the Quick vehicle: his wife, Dorothy Quick, 61, of South Sioux City, NE, and Maxine Steuerwald, 43, of Lawton, IA. Dorothy is in “good” condition, Maxine is in “fair” condition, and Radin is listed as “critical”. Iowa Highway Patrolman Patric Stewart said, “Both vehicles were proceeding west on the two-lane highway. Quick passed the Radin vehicle but his rear-end struck Radin as he completed the pass. The impact sent both vehicles into the ditch on the north side of the road. Quick’s vehicle rolled once.” The accident is still under investigation. The road was clear and dry.

1) Firefighters were called to 102 11th Ave. A cat was stuck up in a 15ft tree. One firefighter ended up with a broken leg at St. Lukes Hospital. He is “just doing fine”. 2) False alarms were sounded at East High School last Wednesday. A food fight broke out and shut the cafeteria Tuesday. Overall, ten upperclassmen have been suspended in result of these events. 3) An overturned Texaco gasoline truck has spilled creating sewer and gas liquids to mix above and below ground for 2 square blocks. It happened at 48th and Correctioville Rd. Four families have been evaculated.
