15 year old climate change activist speaks out in Poland.

Greta Thunberg spoke yesterday in Katowice, Poland, advising people they need to open their ears and eyes to what is happening to our earth. She focused on sending a strong message about our future and our future generation of family members.

When talking about our future, she talks about how our children will act in 70 years and the questions they have. Greta says, “Maybe they will ask why you didn’t do anything while there still was time to act.” She pleads there is time to act and the time is now. Something needs to change according to Thunberg.

Greta’s most powerful moments in her speech is when she describes, “You only speak of green eternal economic growth because you are too scared of being unpopular.” People only agree with each other but not action is done. She adds, “But I don’t care about being popular. I care about climate justice and the living planet.”

Later in her speech she explains how the power is in the hands of the people, not the biggest world leaders. “We have run out of excuses and we are running out of time.” stated Thunberg. Thunberg was adamant and straight forward while delivering her speech, sending a strong message.

In her final remarks, Thunberg stated, “We have come here to let you know that change is coming, whether you like it or not. The real power belongs to the people. Thank you.”
