Sioux City native Drako Rodriquez secured his first UFC fight victory last night in Las Vegas, NV.
Rodriquez, who’s record stands at 7-1, made quick work of his opponent, Mana Martinez in last nights fight. Drako submitted Mana in the first round using one of his best submissions, the triangle choke.
Mr. Rodriquez says he has been dreaming about this fight since he was a little kid, and is more ready than ever to face the next guy. Since the move to Sioux City as a 16 year old, Drako started working out with trainer Brett Welling. Welling says “He enjoys doing it, he enjoys being in that ring. Thats what sets him apart.”
Drako’s first win of 2020 came last night and he hasn’t lost since 2018. He is rolling now on a three fight win streak as a professional fighter.
With the win in Vegas, he is now able to sign a contract with the UFC, if one is presented by UFC President, Dana White. Drako says there is much work to be done before his next fight, but he is excited for what the future holds.
