Armed robbery last night leads to hundreds of dollars in losses at BJ’s Drug.
At approximately 8:30 pm last night, two men held up owner Barney Joseph at gun point while he was working the front counter. One man took $382.65 out of the cash register while the other kept the gun locked on Joseph.
Bj’s Drug, which is located at 450 Stanley Street, saw a similar situation nearly 25 years ago when Joseph’s father resisted and pulled a gun on the robbers which resulted in him losing his life.
Joseph also had a gun under his counter, but decided to not use it. Joseph cited the quick operation time of the robbery and high risk as his reasoning for not pulling the gun.
