It’s every football fans time of the year, and that is playoff football.

But for a particular University is Sioux City, IA the excitement brews a tad more than others.

A Morningside University, the football team is no stranger to the playoffs. But after going for back to back national championships in 2019 and 2020, the team is more excited than ever to try to win another one.

Last year’s season ended in disappointment as the mustangs lost in the semifinal round two conference Rival an Northwestern College.

After going undefeated and beating their rival Northwestern in the regular season the 11-0 Mustangs, Will host the Ottawa Braves from Kansas in Sioux City, IA.

The last few years morningside has had no problem, winning in the first round of the playoffs. And this year the mustangs think no different.

Former morningside player and now graduating senior Cade Berendes says that, “We should win by about 28-35 points if im not mistaken.” 

With agreement from fans and players around the Siouxland area, all eyes will be set on the game this coming Saturday against the Ottawa Braves, good luck to our Morningside Mustangs!
