Media Comparison/ NR 9

Was the text and it was very descriptive summarizing thew whole case in detail. It covered the part where they said that Brian Laundrie dental records confirm that they have indeed found his dead body. It describes that there are other noticeable features beside the dental records and investigators are having a very difficult time discovering how he died. Over text it still leaves the question in the mind of some viewers that he may still be out there despite the article not hinting towards that whatsoeverever.

The video link used was: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/10/25/brian-laundrie-autopsy-inconclusive-gabby-petito-fiance/8543413002/.

Which immediately describes how brutal the weather is in the place where they found the body, and how it was just recently all underwater. The voice and inflection of the reporter made me not question anything about Brian Laundrie being dead. It sounded for certain that he was gone and they are simply waiting for the examiner to do some final tests to see how he dies. In conclusion, my brain and opinion were more satisfied with the video because you got human reactions and human coverage of the topic. Along with the fact that it doesn’t take nearly as long to watch the video as it would to read the whole CNN article.

Maybe they changed the video since you watched. USA Today had a slideshow story, which I don’t think is particularly effective.

The CNN article is more thorough. Lots of quotes and lots of source. More than the USAT video, i bet. I did not watch the CNN video, but I would assume it’s shorter.
