Senior Spotlight: Drew Nolan

Drew NolanBy Dominique Swanson—Drew Nolan is currently one of the head Residents of Dimmitt hall and is a graduating senior this year. In his time at Morningside College he has held various leadership roles and made a positive impact on campus.

Nolan had been involved in many organizations including Entrepreneurship Group, Residence life, Student Alumni Association, Religious Studies Club, ODK, and Advertising club.

Pam Mickelson, Nolan’s favorite professor and Chair of the Business Department commented, “Morningside business department helps student achievement through experiential learning and Drew has taken advantage of many marketing and advertising consulting experiences.”

When speaking of his involvement he said, “It is good to get involved early and then cut back as you find your interests so you can focus more on the things you want to do.”

His plans for after graduation include moving to Des Moines, IA, to continue searching for a job and prepare for his marriage to Amanda Jamtgaard on October 24th.

Nolan explained that ideally he hopes to manage his own small business someday in a smaller community like the one he grew up in. His second dream would be to work for the Minnesota Vikings.

Mickelson first met Drew as a high school student and has known him for his four years at Morningside. She said, “Whoever hires Drew will be very fortunate, his personal ethics is one of the strongest I’ve seen in a young man his age.”

Nolan will leave big shoes to fill in all the positions he has held and leaves freshman with this advice, “If you want to do something, try it now and go after it because you still have a safety net in college and there are tons of second chances, unlike in the real world.”
