Dozens Killed in ISIS Attack on Military Hospital in Afghanistan’s Capital

The article from the N.Y. Times talks about a recent ISIS attack on a Military Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The attackers in Kabul killed at least 25 people and left more than 12 people injured. According to the article, the hospital was attacked by multiple armed gunmen and at least one suicide bomber. As already mentioned before, the attack was on a military hospital, which was definitely no coincidence. The people being treated in the hospital are a mix of wounded soldiers from the former government and Taliban fighters. At the end of the article, the author also summarizes some facts about the surge in ISIS attacks ever since the Taliban takeover

This article is newsworthy as it shows the consequences of the fall of the Western-backed government. The author did a good job in summarizing the incident and also tying it to the recent Taliban takeover in Afghanistan. The author also did a good job of making the article more authentic by including statements of doctors that were in the hospital during the attack.

  1. This can be a late #8.

At some point American media will get tired of covering Afghanistan. The NYT
will continue, but others will drop it as stories will no longer be “relevant” to
    a US audience.
