By Jordan Heim—On Thursday, April 16, KMSC Fusion 93 held the annual Community Connection in the lobby of Olsen Student Center. The event is designed to allow students and non-profits to come together.
Jenni Beaver the public service coordinator for KMSC was in charge of organizing the event. “It’s our chance to invite non-profits onto campus to speak on air about their needs, mission, and events. It allows KMSC to step out of the studio and into the community,” said Beaver.
The event brought 20 different non-profits from around campus to come and be on the radio. Each of those non-profits worked with one of nine DJs who hosted the various time slots.
“DJs really stepped up and went on air and led fantastic interviews,” said Beaver.
Beaver believes the event was very successful and positivity impacted the Morningside College community.
“The Community Connection gives non-profits the chance to ask for volunteers, donations, interns, and clear up misconceptions about their organization,” says Beaver.
