Students Tie Blankets For Shelters

By Amber Burg—Students across campus came to Olsen Student Center throughout January 19 to make tie blankets. These tie blankets will be donated to the Children’s Hospital and homeless shelters throughout Sioux City.

“We have between 15 to 20 so far,” said Ryan Russell.

They hope to have between 35 to 40 blankets done by tomorrow. Ryan Russell and Sara bunker were in charge of this event, which was the first day of a Week of Service.

A Week of Service continues throughout this week. Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm E-Group will be educating people on the impact of gender, race, and class in the business world. Tuesday night there will be a diversity film shown in Roadman Formal at 7:30 pm. Wednesday Campus ministries will be doing an event call ‘For the Bible Tells Me So’ at 7 pm in UPS. Thursday MAC is sponsoring a poverty simulation at 6:30 pm in Yockey. Friday Katie Wirsing will be performing her slam poetry at 8 pm in Buck’s.
