By Katie Copple– They were the ideal mother/daughter pair that we idolized throughout our pre-teen years. We heard countless Gilmore-ism’s throughout the middle school hallways. It was THE SHOW to watch during its seven-season run, and on October 1st Gilmore Girls hit Netflix with all of its run-on sentences and coffee-induced glory.
It has been seven years since the world said goodbye to Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and the small Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. With its quirky cast of characters and the endless drama between Lorelai and her mother Emily, this show is a must watch for all new and returning fans.
Parenthood’s Lauren Graham stars in this dramedy alongside Alexis Bledel, her on-screen daughter. The show picks up with 16-year-old Rory heading to a private high school at the very age that Lorelai gave birth to her. The show follows this mother-daughter duo through the trials and tribulations of young adulthood, high school and college graduation, boys and the challenges of living in a small town.
If you are looking for your next Netflix binge and love a fast-paced comedy, Gilmore Girls is the show for you. If, like me, you’ve already watched every episode, its recent addition to Netflix is a great excuse to revamp your love for this show. With its obscure pop-culture references, witty dialog and strong, dynamic characters, it’s extremely hard not to find something to relate to personally within each hour-long episode.
Netflix made a great choice to adding Gilmore Girls to their television choices. When news broke that the show was debuting October 1, the Internet buzz was more than anyone imagined. New and old fans be prepared, there are going to be many hours spent in front of our laptop screens.
