By Andrew Schnebel ~ The intramural basketball championship took place between Norms Pringle Can and Trey City this past Thursday. Both teams were coming in with one loss. This was the second matchup between the two teams with Trey City winning the prior match by ten points.
Norms Pringle Can got off to a hot start getting up 18-4 in the first five minutes of the game. From there it was all catch up for Trey City, who cut the deficit to nine points at halftime.
The games intensity picked up during the second half, with Trey City cutting the deficit to five points. Then senior Joel Nixon hit a three ball to put the game out of reach. Norms Pringle Can won the game 61-53.
Sophomore guard Trevor Strong from Trey City stated, “It was a hard fought season, even though we lost I felt that we had a great season overall.”
The intramural basketball season was a four-week season. Next up for intramurals will be dodge ball and volleyball.
