Musketeers headed to Western Conference Final

by Bryce Griffin–The Sioux City Musketeers are headed to the Western Conference finals to face off against the Tri-City Storm after defeating the Waterloo Black Hawks 2-1 in a three–game series. 

Sioux City packed an entire section at Young Arena in Waterloo full of fans as the Musketeers cruised to a 3-1 victory in game one. Sioux City’s leading goal scorer, Ben Steeves, made his impact and presence known in all three of these contests, scoring a goal in each one.

In the first two contests, Steeves had the first goal of each game. Waterloo took game two at the Tyson Event Center on Sunday, May 1, by the score of 2-1, setting the teams up for a final Tuesday night clash.

Sioux City struck first with Tabor Heaslip scoring the first goal of the game. Sioux City went on to win 3-0, shutting out the Black Hawks and sending themselves to the Western Conference Finals. Goalie Alex Tracy recorded the shut out, his first of the playoffs, stopping 16 shots. Tracy was also named the first star of the game. 

Sioux City travels to the Viaero Center in Kearney, Nebraska, for game one of a five-game series Friday, May 6, at 7:05 pm. A trip to the Clark Cup Finals on the line.
