by Payton MIller–KMSC is set to play 12 hours of Vinyl music this Saturday, April 23.
The student DJs at KMSC radio station have signed on to play 12 straight hours of vinyl music on the station this Saturday. Stations that complete the full 12 hours will receive a gold vinyl slipmat in celebration of completing the event.
The day will be run entirely by the students at KMSC under the guidance of station supervisor Dave Madsen.
The students who intend to host during the day include PSA promotion director Mark Roy, social media manager Payton Miller, News Director Garrett Arbuckle, student DJ Trey Kennedy, student DJ Brandyn Clair, and student DJ Alexis Spier.
“We’ve undergone some specific training as far as the turntables and the broadcasting equipment for Saturday. We’re all very excited because it’s a good way to pay heritage to how radio used to be,” said Caden Schulte, KMSC’s music director.
KMSC will begin the 12 hours at 8 am Saturday morning.
