Photos by Abby Koch-Strong defense and a third quarter push allowed the Mustangs to win 53-42 over the University of Saint Francis on Fri. March 19. The Mustangs move on to the quarterfinals in the National Association Intercollegiate Athletics’ Championship.
Junior Sophia Peppers led the Mustangs with 16 points and senior Sierra Mitchell following up with 11 points. With Mitchell’s performance tonight, she became the 4th Morningside player ever to score 2,000 career points.
The Mustangs will face Concordia, fellow Great Plains Athletic Conference opponent, on Sat. March 20, at 8PM.
