Thomas Ritchie Class Interview

My fellow classmates and I had the chance to interview a man named Thomas Ritchie the other day. His hobbies include cycling and anything hockey related. Ritchie is originally from Waterloo, Iowa and graduated Mount Marty College with a Mass Communications major. He has been involved in the journalism field for 25 years. Believe it or not Ritchie used to teach journalism at Morningside University (then known as college) once upon a time. Nowadays he steps away from journalism and instead focuses on corporate marketing for his career path. The reason he stepped away from journalism is because it has changed so much. Ritchie has been quoted to say that “Journalism is dead,” but that really just means a major change has occurred. Like if you were to send an invite to someone you had to physically send something. Now you can just send a tweet (or an ‘X’) and people will get the message. The point is that journalism still exists, it’s just so different. When asked if Ritchie has considered other jobs he replied, “I’d love to be a farmer.” And there you have it. an interview with the one and only Thomas Ritchie.

Conversational, like the beginning of a podcast. But no focus yet, and
a brief quote. You , like many of your classmates, are picking out the
info on how the media has changed. That’s a fine focus. Do it well and
completely. With paragraphs, full quotes and paraphrasing. You have
the beginning of a summary. Go with it.
