The profile I decided to do was on Chris Stapleton. The article is titled ‘Christ Stapleton On Standing Still and Starting Over and is from GQ. Stapleton is a country singer-songwriter and he is releasing a new album, Starting Over, tomorrow, November 13. He finished this album in Feburary just before the lockdown.
Over quarantine Stapleton decided to start riding a bicycle. He said “I’m 42 years old and decided it’s a good idea to start riding a mountain bike. It’s been good—just a kind of release. In no way am I going to switch careers or anything.” He said it helps him “turn off part of your brain” and help clears space for the creative process to take place.
Stapleton has taken his free time over quarantine to appreciate the life he usually gets to live and he looks forward to get back to living life on the road.
I think this article was very well written and really showcases who Stapleton is. At the end of the article there is a Q&A and I think that will help his fans really connect with him and be able to know his true feelings. I liked reading and being able to relate to longing for the world to go back to normal. As much as I miss live music, I can’t even imagine how much these artists miss performing.
