Explosion at Mega City Mall (condensed version)
At 9:50 am today an explosion occurred at the Mega City Mall’s food court. Two fatalities and less than 100 injuries have been reported by early responders. An investigation is currently underway and Homeland Security has been contacted.
The police have no current suspects or leads. The police chief stated that, “There is no evidence yet that it was a bomb.” The security cameras were recording during the event and will be analyzed for clues of the cause of the explosion by the police force and Homeland Security.
Mikaela Livengood, a mall cop on duty, was walking away from the food court when the explosion occurred. She reported that she saw a suspicious person place a box on a table right before she left, but has no real evidence that it caused the explosion.
The mall spokesman, Bob Dillon, reported that the mall took a lot of damage to the food court and Ikea. Mr. Dillon assures mall goers that the mall will be up and running again no later than Saturday.
