News Comment #6
Hearing aids are coming back to the consumer… cheaper too!
It’s been very difficult for hearing aids to be purchased for people over the counter at a high quality. The FDA announced in August that they will be making hearing aids access-able over the counter.
Hearing aids would cost people four to five thousand dollars. Insurances didn’t cover this for most people either. For some, that is a lot of money to pump out of their pockets.
Barbara Kelley, the executive director of the Hearing Loss Association of America, stated: “It’s a new frontier”
There will be nine over the counter hearing aids available. Customers will take an assessment and choose which one best suites them. Prices will range from $200 to $3,000

This is summary. Where’s the comment? I am the audience for this, and there are many others like me. We can’t or won’t pay crazy prices for hearing aids. When I get a moment I will have to check what’s available.
