The story I picked was the losing of Racine Horlick hoop star Maurice Caldwell, who was gunned down before he was meant to leave for North Dakota. They were heading to North Dakota because his mom received a new job and he was going to try to play basketball out in this state.
In the news video, it starts by grabbing my attention by saying words as gunned down and how the family is in utter sadness. They provide an interview with the family and show a montage of pictures of Maurice Caldwell. In the writing news source, it doesn’t try to grab the attention. It just starts with what time the police said he got murder and how his parents have been deeply saddened by losing a loved one.
The length is good on showing how the story can move throughout the article with you knowing where the story is coming from and what has happened so far.
The source and quotes are very good because it is coming right from the parents and the police who are investigating the murder.
Lastly the use of sound and pictures were huge to portray the hardship that the city of Racine is going through. People are shocked because he was seen to do nothing wrong in the community and are at a lost for words.

Tough story for everyone. The CBS story is more focused than the print version,
which brings in a lot of stuff that may or may not be relevant. The headlines are
kind of a giveaway. CBS is the shooting; FOX 6 is bringing together all of what
may just be coincidental events.
