Lead Practice #1

Ban affects Iowa Highway patrol from having radar guns. 70 radar guns were withdrawn from service due to the risk of cancer from exposure to radiation waves.

Yesterday in Des Moines, Iowa, the ban came into affect. “The whole situation is under review,” said spokesman Adam Smith.

Observation Exercise

I am in a room. This room has multiple walls. It is shaped like the letter D. I am sitting at a desk. The desk is surrounded by many desks and many comfy chairs and a few couches. There is always a lot of hanging its as well as some built into the ceiling. There is a fire place as well as twenty windows that slide up for air. There are also people studying and people chatting.

I hear an air vent behind me inside of the wall clattering and making some noise. I hear people studying anatomy, working on parts of the body. I also hear people talking about their dance team practice that was extremely rough today. I also heard people rustling their car keys and typing on their computers. Many people walked through this area and I heard loud footsteps and doors open and slam clothes.

The carpet in the room feels rough and the wood table is extremely smooth. The table is also extremely moist due to the humidity. The table has nothing on it to feel except my computer. My butt is numb from the cushioned chair because the cushion does absolutely no justice. The room also smell like popcorn is being made as we speak.

News Comment #3

This article is pretty good, it talks about not only what happened this weekend in college football, but it also talked about what they thought before the first week of the college football season. It talks about what could happen among the power five conferences, with loses and wins throughout the year and total year predictions. The only downfall of this article is that it is all about possible predictions. Not much in this article is actually factual, other then what they talk about what happened this previous week. So overall this article was a good read, I wouldn’t really recommend it to a normal person, but to a diehard college football fan I probably would.

News Comment #2

The article I read for this week’s news comment was mostly about the Houston Cougars football team and a little bit about the BYU football team. It talks about how they both go center stage this Saturday for opening weekend of college football. Both teams go out of their comfort zones and play bigger teams then normal to send a message early in the season to conferences they would want to join in the future, such as the Big 12, and to the college football playoff committee. My opinion on this is that it is super good for them. Last year when Houston was undefeated late in the year, they were disrespected week in and week out by the college football playoff committee because of their strength of schedule. So going out the first weekend in a neutral sight, and playing the number 3 ranked team in the Oklahoma Sooners is a really bold statement. So overall I thought this article was a good read because I have always been a firm believer in mid-major conference teams going out of their way to try and make a run at a national championship.
