Reflection October 27

When I began to think about what I wanted to write for story 2 was simple. I wanted it to be football related I love the game and I love asking fans, coaches, and players about the season. When I pick my topics I really want them to relate to me in a way or where I came from. Talking about football is everything definitely when you know the game as much as I do. However, what worries me is talking to people that really don’t know much about football and trying to explain it to them.

Of course, everyone not going to know every little thing about it, but watching it for so long you should know the differences in the position groups and offense and defense of side of the ball. I feel like the part that concerned me the most was asking people and getting they input on do they believe we can make it back to the national championship and win. Another quote that concerned me also was that “We are a different team from last years team”. The reason why that concerned me was because I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

I didn’t really revise or change anything to my story because I felt it wasn’t really much to change, because everything was so straight forward. Everything that I put down and wrote I felt like was good and beneficial in my liking with a very nice flow and point to point with everything. I mainly wanted to pay attention to the quotes I was using and making sure that everything made sense.

I think the part that I put the most time into is asking my 2 interviewers the questions and getting they responses. I wanted to make sure that the questions that I was asking was easy for them to answer not no hard out the way questions. Another thing that I payed attention too was my quotations. That was the biggest thing with me and the way I wanted to put my story. There was some great quotes being said and thats why put it in my story.

A news strategy that I have used and learned was to pay close attention and have good listening skills when interviewing someone. You don’t want to cut your interviewer off in no way, let them talk and let them get everything out that they feel or whatever is on they mind listen to every bit. The 2 people that I have interviewed gave me some real good feedback on the questions that I was asking which then made me work on my quotations and how to put in all together as one big article. Everything that I had got back from my 2 people that I interviewed I didn’t take them as a joke. I really wouldn’t judge them If they didn’t understand the question.

When Im interviewing I want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and let them know the questions that Im going ask. At the end of the day I know that these people would’ve never did it if it wasn’t for the kindness of them. I give fully respect to them and will never judge a person thats trying to help me. Because they are doing this for you.
