GUN

Last night around 8:30, two men wearing ski masks robbed BJ’s Drug at 450 Stanley St. and held Barney Joseph at gun point.  The men left in a car parked in front of the store.  BJ’s Drug was runned by Joseph’s father until it came to the same diplima last night.  “Yes, Dad resisted, I guess.  Anyway, they found him shot to death, his own gun in his hand, and a bullet in the store’s ceiling. I’d rather part with my money than my life,” Joseph said.  This is probably why he did not reach for his pistol he keeps at the store when this happened last night.

Suffolk Downs

There was a fire this morning.  It happened at Suffolk Downs Race Track in Boston.  Just one day before racing season opens.  The fire happened in an one-story, wooden barn where 25 horses were stabled.  Fifteen of them, 13 thoroughbred and 2 saddle, did not make it while 10 escaped including 2 that had fire on their backs.  Dan Bucci, assistant general manager, said, “It could have been of an incediary nature beacuse it started in the middle of the barn, not at the end.  The only heaters and electrical outlets were in the tack rooms at the ends of the barns.”  However, arson is suspected as the cause because Jim Connery, fire chief, said, “The fire exploded near the center of the barn.  Flames were shooting out of the building when we got here.  The fire is definately suspicious.”  An arson squad had been called to the scene.  The fire smoldered until noon today.  A jockey, Albert Ramos, Miami, Florida, said while pointing to the surviving horses, “That’s my best friends.  I love those horses more than I do people.  I feel like I want to cry.”

Gun lead is fine, but it’s not a when story.Move “last night around 8:30.” Was runned? You include the relevant details, Chris, but it’s kind of sloppy. Proofread.

Downs story: Short is good, but it can be overdone. Try combing three into one: Fire destroyed a barn at Suffolk Downs one day before racing season began.

It doesn’t do much good to post something If I need a password to see it, Chris.
Is it that big a secret?
