I walk into the building through a big glass door that leads into a pretty big opening of the building. There is a pool through the windows to the left along with athletic offices next door. To the right, there are three basketball courts that span the floor below the main.
There is a constant buzz from the lights and always noise.
People are walking in and out of offices into the main floor and kids are on the courts practicing their soccer skills and basketball shots. Friends are playing sports and talking which is a constant chatter that echos. The weight room below also has the sudden clash of weights hitting the floor or people running on the treadmill.
Athletes come to the Hper to workout or attend practice. The basketball courts are always open with students shooting around.
The occasional coach walks out and talks to an athlete or goes to visit another coaches office. Everyone always seems in a rush but isn’t afraid to have a conversation with them if they know the person.
There is a student check-in desk with someone working. They are doing homework. Their buddy comes up to them and starts talking to him He says, “What are your plans for the night, dude.” The worker replies, “NFL starts tonight so i’ll probably watch that in Dimmit”.
The conversation continues and eventually they settle on watching it together after getting Taco Bell. Sounds fun.
How do you know the people talking are friends?
A couple good sensory details. Good objective detail.
