Steve Jobs’ Daughter Mocks Apple’s New iPhone 14 – Final Article #1

Apple announced the new iPhone 14 and the opinions of social media users align with the opinion of the late Steve Jobs’ youngest daughter, Eve Jobs, who mocked the company on her Instagram story.

Eve Jobs shares meme to her Instagram story.

Eve Jobs posted a meme shortly after the iPhone 14 was announced. Fortune describes the meme saying that it showed the image of a man gleefully holding up an identical shirt to the one he’s wearing, with the caption, “Me upgrading from iPhone 13 to iPhone 14 after Apple’s announcement today.”

As the meme suggests, the changes from iPhone 13 to the new iPhone 14 are minimal. The last several iPhone upgrades have consisted of the same features updated: improvement in cameras, screens, and the processors.

The new iPhone 14 has exactly those. The iPhone 14 cameras has a faster aperture and upgraded sensors with a photo processing system to boost detail and color in the shots with low lighting.

Perhaps the biggest changes come with the improvements to the safety features of the new phone. The feature is called Emergency SOS via satellite. The Wall Street Journal describes this feature as satellite connectivity to the iPhone 14 for when people are in need of help off the grid. The new phone can also detect car crashes.

The prices of the new iPhone 14 match the prices of the iPhone 13 models. In part, this may be because of the limited changes. Ben Wood, chief analyst at market research firm CCS Insight, said to CNN, “We had anticipated that inflation, increased production, and component costs, and other expenses such as more expensive shipping would have led Apple to increase its retail pricing.”

According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, “Apple makes about 50% of its revenue from the iPhone, but the actual percentage is far higher.” The new phones entice buyers to purchase related products. Users may also upgrade their AirPods or Apple Watches.

Additionally, those that liked the smaller model will have to wait at least another year for a new mini model as Apple shifts their focus on larger devices. As for the lineup, there are four new iPhones. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The new Pro models lose the traditional front-facing camera “notch” and instead gains what Apple calls a “Dynamic Island” panel. Shara Tibken describes this as a panel that adjusts in size based on the notifications you’re getting or what you’re doing on your phone. The iPhone 14 Pro models also get an always on display to quickly glance at the time, date, or other items.
