The report done by CNN on hacking that was done to New York Times’ website is a newsworthy piece because people have not been able to access the New York Times’ website or receive news from them. People needed to know what was going on with the organization and why it was not accessible. This also has happened to other news organizations recently and maybe by the same hacking group which would create a newsworthy story of why these news organizations are being hacked.

I found this news article to be rather interesting. It started off drawing your attention in, making you want to know more about what happened to the New York Times’ website. They did not blame the group that had evidence pointing towards them being responsible but they said “evidence continued to mount that it was the result of an attack by the Syrian Electronic Army.” I think that is a great way to put that because they are not fully sure that it is them but they let on that there has been evidence pointing towards that group. They had the who, what, when, where, and some of the why.

I would like to know how they violated their registration agreement. They just mentioned that they did but now how. Also, how this group that evidence points to hacked into the systems and why they were doing this. What would the group benefit from hacking the news organizations? I would of added more specific details on the situation if they were available.

It is a good piece and reported pretty well, I just feel like it left me with more questions after I was done reading it. Here’s a link to read it yourself.
