Television Show Review: The League

indexBy Derek Krayenhagen—The nonstop comedy show about buddies who run a fantasy football league is the perfect show for a man’s man or for someone who loves football and enjoys a good laugh. The League sees friends battling it out on the imaginary gridiron for the Shiva (a trophy named in honor of an old classmate). The show is set around a fantasy football league (which suites the TV shows title perfectly) but also the guys end up going through hilarious hijinks along the way.

The strengths of The League are the characters. All of them provide some sort of comedic relief at some point during the show. Each one of the main characters (Kevin, Taco, Ruxin, Andre, and Pete) can have an entire episode surrounded on just their issues and they can keep the episode afloat.

The League airs on FX at 9:30 on Wednesday nights but if you are like me and can’t juggle all of your TV shows, you can catch the show on Netflix. I don’t believe all the seasons are on Netflix yet but you can get caught up for the most part.

The League is a hilarious show that provides great laughs for the whole thirty-minute airtime. I repeat if you love football and love comedy then the League would be the perfect show for you start watching. Don’t be surprised if after the first episode you get hooked and before you know it the first season is watched on Netflix.
