By: Rachel Potter – Students at Morningside College may have wondered why they were getting live music while they enjoyed their dinner in the cafeteria a few time this semester.
Casey Benton, the General Manager for Sodexo, discussed new ideas to bring to the cafe at the end of last semester. Sodexo has hosted two DJ nights this semester in February and March. They decided to say local and hired the DJ Company from Sioux City.
Along with have music playing while student enjoyed their dinner, Sodexo changed their menu a little. They offered “specials” the nights of DJs. As Benton said, “nothing more than just trying something a little different.”
The amount of people did not change during the two nights Sodexo had the DJs, but there was positive feedback from students who went.
“It was nice to be able to enjoy some different food and music with my friends,”said Sabrina Guerra.
Morningside students can expect to see more DJs again in the fall along with some other events.
