Omicron Delta Kappa, an upperclassmen honors society, has organized a campus-wide service day for the past eight years, Into the Streets. ODK is now gearing up for year nine.
Into the Streets is an all–campus event where a large percentage of the students and faculty go into the community of Sioux City and does service for organizations. This year’s event is October 7.
Dominique Swanson, co-vice president of Into the Streets, says, “Each year the event has grown in number of participants. This year, our goal is 900 students and faculty.”
Many of the campus’s organizations and sports teams will sign up as a group to volunteer. Swanson said, “This year we are having Krispy Kreme instead of Hy-Vee donuts so that is exciting.”
Sign up for Into the Streets has been moved to an online format. If you or your group would like to sign up for this year’s event, here are the steps.
First, determine the number of members that will be participating with your group and what their names are. You will also need each member’s T-shirt size. Next, go to the Into the Streets sign-up page. Here, you will fill in the information that you gathered regarding the members participating.
After filling out the information, click “submit.” Then your group is signed up for Into the Streets.
