Morningside’s football started a bit slow, but quickly cranked it up on the way to a 56-28 win over visiting Valley City State University. The two teams combine for over 1,000 yards of total offense.
Leading the Mustangs on offense was Ryan Kasdorf with 24 completions for 252 yards. Transfer Brandon Wegher and junior Jon Halvorson both rushed for more than 100 yards.
Next up is Nebraska Wesleyan Sept. 14 to open GPAC play. Game time is 7 p.m.
