Christmas at Morningside is near

The 17^th annual Christmas at Morningside is this Friday, November 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium.

Students involved in the performance began practicing for the concert on Sunday, November 25.  The rest of the practices for the week are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday night.

Groups participating in this event are the college choir, Bel Canto (women’s choir), Singing Men (men’s choir), the Master Choral  (group of singers from the Sioux City area), and the Morningside band.

“Break Forth O Heavenly Light” is the theme of this year’s concert, which is also a song the ensemble choir is singing.  This song was composed for Morningside College to perform at Christmas at Morningside and has never been performed by a choir before. The composer will be in attendance Friday night.

The choir will perform five mass choir pieces and the band will join the choir for some songs as well.

Christmas at Morningside is the big kick off for the Christmas season in Sioux City. If you have nothing going on Friday night at 7:30 and you like Christmas music, make sure to get yourself a seat in Eppley Auditorium to watch an awesome concert.
