Spring break is right around the corner. Students at Morningside College get two weeks off for vacation. Everyone gets a break from school. Some students will go out of town, out of the country, or just stay at home and relax.
Students should start to plan. It is easy to start generating ideas for break; Florida, Mexico, California, or any place that is far away from Iowa. The problem that surfaces right away is money. Paying for a spring break away from home cost money. Make sure to plan for expenses of the trip. Work extra hours, save pop cans to turn in, tutor, bring in some old clothes to a consignment shop, or do odd jobs. All of these ideas can help plan to save for a fun spring break get a way. After the money issues are over, focus on packing the essentials and taking care of loose ends before hitting the road. As the date approaches, and everything is in order, just get ready to have a fun time away from school for a break.
Brittney Schindler, a senior at Morningside, says, “ I love Spring break because I am getting a break from school work and I get to relax.” Schindler is one of the many students who would rather sit and watch television then work on reports, essays, and papers. She wanted to go to Florida for break, but would rather save up for a trip this summer.
Another student, Kelsey Barker says, “ Without Spring break I would probably go insane from homework and 8 am classes.” Barker plans on visiting her friends and family over break. This just so happens to be away from Iowa, and away from school.
If students didn’t have a Spring break they would be going to classes from January 11 to March 2. That is almost 2 months of classes without a day off. So, get ready to enjoy the break of all breaks. Get out of town, sleep in, visit family, and explore because Spring Break 2012 is right around the corner.
