Singer/Songwriter entertains

By Jazmine Dirks–
Since the young age of fourteen, she’s been gracing coffee shops and bars alike with her captivating voice and impressive guitar skills. It was this past Friday that Morningside’s Activities Council (MAC) was able to get the experienced singer/songwriter, Hana Pestle, to bring her talent to entertain the students of Morningside College.

“I’m surprised I hadn’t heard of her before, her voice is so beautiful,” said a new member of MAC and sophomore at the college, Taylor Hatting, moved by Pestle’s singing ability.

Pestle, 22, sang several of her original songs of her debut album “For the Sky.” Her show included “Enough for Me,” “Make You Hurt,” and “These Two Hands” just to name a few.

A carefully crafted mix of Lady GaGa, Journey, Cee Lo Green covers really got the crowd excited. A few audience members could even be seen singing along. Pestle’s music is thoughtful and her lyrics are completely relatable to her audience. Her laid back feel, and witty banter between songs kept the audience of college students on the edge of their seats.

As Pestle’s tour continues at colleges throughout the Midwest, Morningside’s

Activities Council is looking forward to January 25. MAC is asking everyone to Pack the Stands as the Men and Women’s basketball teams take on Dordt at 6p.m. and 8p.m. Then, wrapping up the month, on January 27th with The Bornstein Experiment, “a hilariously-outrageous comedic and mind-reading duo” will entertain us.
