The Morningside Women’s basketball team is in the final four at the NAIA national tournament. They will be playing GPAC rival Northwestern at 8pm tonight (Monday) at the Tyson event center. This is the women’s fifth time in the final four in the past eight years.

The Mustangs beat GPAC rival, Sioux Falls, Saturday night 72-70 to put them in the final four. The exciting game was down to the wire.

Tanaeya Worden scored a high of 18 points, her fifth game in the row leading in scoring. Worden was one of many in double figures.  Emily Christen had an impressive 12 points in the first half and finished with 15 for the game. Brittany Alfredson had 13 and Shelby Beaudette had 11 with two crucial free throws with 1:04 left in the game. Chelsie Trask scored nine points.

The Mustangs have played Northwestern three times this season and have been unable to come out with a win. The players are all very confident that they will come out on top this time.
