Visual Journal – Sander April 26, 2024 / Sander Cosmus / 0 Comments #1 Since I always sleep at my girlfriends house off-campus, the first thing I do in my day is follow her to the busstop, as she has to get to work. Here she is, Agnes Garder, waiting for the bus. #2 I love being active and working out, so I tend to start off my day by getting in a workout. On this day, I was accompanied by my teammate and fellow Morningside student, Jonas Markfoged. I am helping him stay accountable during his rehab process, after having had two major surgeries on both his knees. #3 Every morning, I will go to the library to get a head start on my day and the week. I always start off by checking the stock market, as I am into trading. I will then proceed to do whatever homework I might have for the day or the week. As seen in the picture, I have some essentials with me to help me “get in my zone”. My water bottle, a coffee, my headphones, lip balm, and hand lotion. I always bring my cap with me as well, in case of my hair not being the way I want it to be. #4 Working hard in the classroom and working out, it is important to fuel your body and mind right. I believe a lot in eating healthy to be the best version of yourself. On the plate there is chicken, cauliflower, carrots, red pepper, green beans, chickpeas, and potatoes. My drink of choice is sparkling water. I never try to make my plate look appetizing, I put my energy into making the content of the plate the best for me and my body. #5 A big part of my day-to-day here at Morningside, is of course going to class. I typically go straight from the cafeteria to class, as it fits my schedule the best. This picture is from my business capstone class, “Business Strategy”. This has been a really good and interesting class, glad it will be my final business class. #6 An integral part of my experience here at Morningside is connecting with friends. At the Spoonholder Cafe I can combine getting a delicious beverage, while also talking to friends as I have plenty of friends working there. On the picture is my good friend, teammate, fellow Morningside student, Isaac Gould-Monsegue. We both enjoy each others company, so it is always nice when I stop by. Here he is in the midst of making me the “pink drink”, one of my favorites. #7 Another integral part of my day-to-day at Morningside, is being a part of the men’s soccer team. With soccer being the main reason of coming to the US, it has arguably been the most important aspect of my Morningside experience. I have learned a lot being a part of a great team, winning the conference, qualifying for the national tournament twice, as well as personally receiving all-conference first team honors, and being named captain of the team. I am forever grateful to Morningside Soccer. #8 Going on walks has been a massive part in my day-to-day here at Morningside. I go on walks daily as it helps me stay healthy physically, but more importantly mentally. I tend to use it as a form of meditation, but not all the time. Majority of the time though, it’s just me and my thoughts, thinking about everything from the day ahead, to whatever my mind thinks about, accepting my thoughts. This has helped me have a clear mind, and to take on each day’s work, both homework and physical training. #9 Attending other sports has been a very fun part about attending Morningside. With Morningside being a small school, it was important for me to attend and support other sports as much as I could. My favorite sports to attend was volleyball and basketball, as the atmosphere would always be good. This picture is from a men’s volleyball game, which they unfortunately lost despite having an impressive season this year. #10 Last but not least, my girlfriend, fellow Morningside student, Agnes Garder. Meeting her at Morningside my freshman year, she has arguably been the main reason as to why I decided to come back to Morningside for my senior year. Whatever highs and lows I might’ve gone through, I could always count on her being right there for me. We have been together now for 3,5 years, and I am forever grateful that she was such an integral part of experience here at Morningside, and that Morningside was the place to bring us together.
