Merck & Co, partnered with Ridgeback Biotherapeutics LP, developed a COVID-19 drug that is being cleared by U.K. health regulators. This makes them the first country to authorize the pill. The pill can be taken at home and has shown death and hospitalization number decreases.

U.K. is hoping to use this drug to fight against COVID-19 as the winter months are approaching.

Other drugs have been found to also reduce the risk of hospitalization but none of them are take home drugs. Other countries are likely to follow behind the U.K. to clear this pill.

Although I am tired of hearing about COVID-19, I did find this article interesting. So far, doctors haven’t had much to treat COVID-19. This article was very detailed and informational. I don’t think there was any bias and the quotes were very useful in the overall goal of the article.
