A new survey of more than 1,500 college students nationwide conducted for us by College Pulse reveals a deep disconnect between students and both major parties. Most college students do not see themselves as Democrats or Republicans. Some 34% of students surveyed identify as strong or weak Democrats, and 11% claim to be strong or weak Republicans, leaving the majority, 54%, identifying as independents — those who say they still lean toward a party or something else entirely. There are notably more Democrats at private schools (41%) than at public institutions (31%), but Democrats are far from dominant on most campuses today.

Is gen z afraid of the economy while in college or about to graduate?
Gen Z interns surveyed by Goldman Sachs say their biggest priorities when taking a new job are what their day-to-day will look like (34%), as well as who their colleagues will be (21%). That’s notably higher than other draws of a job, including salary (13%), the company’s purpose (12%) and opportunities for advancement (8%).
Young workers also know opportunities abound beyond the traditional workforce, which can take some of the pressure off of finding a “perfect” corporate job out of school.
Interview someone and ask them about their thoughts on post college and how they currently feel about the economy.
