This past year the Explorers put one hundred thousand dollars into the field. That included new speakers, new grass, new dirt, and better dugouts. These were huge upgrades for the field from what they had before.

The Explorers stadium is located right off the freeway which is very convenient because the baseball team doesn’t have to cross the bridge into South Sioux.

Carter Ades, the fifth-year senior, has been through it all. Playing on all the fields possible in the conference and says that the Explorers stadium in his favorite. He likes it because of the size and feels you get from playing on it. When the stadium gets full of fans you feel electric and it’s like no other.

South Sioux City was great to play on, however, it had bad dirt and it was difficult to experience the real thing we were going to get during the season, said Aiden Bishop, first baseman for MSide.

I asked Wade Canaday, starting pitcher for MSide, how he felt about the stadium. “I’m blessed. not all college athletes get to play on such nice fields.”

Morningside usually only plays on the field for their season, but this year they got to play on it for the fall. This is a massive opportunity for Morningside to get ahead of its competition on its home field in the future.
