News Comment #2

The news comment I am talking about is the constant change of release date with movies. Venom: Let There be Carnage is the movie I am talking about in particular. The Venom sequel has been postponed many times since the Covid-19 pandemic began. The film was originally slated to release in October of 2020, but was then later pushed back to June of 2021. As the pandemic continued, the film was pushed back again to September of 2021. A couple weeks ago, due to the delta variant of Covid-19, the film was postponed to October 15th. There were rumors that the film was going to postponed to 2022. Those rumors were found out to be false.

Marvel Studios film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings released over labor day weekend and the film did very well. Even with the pandemic, the film broke the labor day box office record which is good for movies releasing in the future. This lead to the Venom Sequel being pushed forward two weeks earlier. The film will now release on October 1st.

The article is very insightful. The article is for typical movie goers and hardcore movie fans. It gives a lot of information about how much this film has been through since the pandemic. It also talks about how a lot of films have struggled in theaters due to COVID-19. Both of the marvel movies that have came out have done very well since the pandemic began. Both Black Widow and Shang-Chi did decent numbers at the box office. While they didn’t do typical Marvel Studios numbers, they did good for the average movie. Since Venom: Let There be Carnage is a Marvel property (although owned by Sony), there is optimism that the film will have good box office numbers.
