Plane Crash

Following the takeoff of TWA jet at Kennedy International Airport, 5 people are left deceased amidst a terrible crash. Within the same 45-passenger flight, many were left narrowly escaping injury including two Backwater State University Professors.

Associate professor of rural sociology John Dumont and associate professor of English George Johnson were aboard the flight. Each of the professors were making a return from separate conferences in New York City, both surviving the accident. Amongst the 43 others aboard the plane, including passengers and crew members, 5 people are left dead.

Curriculum Changes

President of Backwater State University enforces new course requirements for students due to low enrollment rates following previous school years.

“We feel that these new course requirements will allow us to turn out better-educated persons,” explained President David French. Heading into the upcoming school year students of Backwater State University are required to have one of each of the following courses on their schedules: math, science, and foreign language. This is due to enrollment percentages of as low as 15-20% following the previous school years. Taking these courses is now a graduation requirement.

Arrest

22-year old daughter of attorney, Jim Wensen, is arrested last night on DUI charges.

Cathy Wensen is no stranger to the police though as this is not just her first DUI violation, but her third is only 6 months! Aside from being known as the ‘attorney’s daughter,’ Cathy Wensen was better seen as this year’s homecoming queen, cheerleader, and straight A student at Vanderbilt University. Cathy is in her senior year and attends the university for graduate study in the field of biology.
