The City of Omaha has just announced that Kevin Slimp will be the new city prosecutor as of last Wednesday.
The prosecuting office handles nearly 30,000 cases a year that relate anywhere from traffic violations to other high end crimes such as murder and drug smuggling in the city.
Slimp has been around the criminal justice system for some time now. He has nearly 30 years of experience as a prosecutor and a deputy country attorney, he also has worked at the Nebraska Attorney General’s office. Slimp is also born and raised from the Omaha area, he got his degree at the University of Omaha and Creighton as well.
“Kevin is an excellent attorney and has spent his nearly thirty-year legal career as a prosecutor,” Matt Kuhse city attorney said about Slimp in a press conference this week. Kevin also says that he is “humbled and honored” to have been selected as the new city prosecutor.
In my opinion, I think that this article was wrote perfectly. I believe that it hits all of the criteria that is needed to be an “article”. Great quotes, facts and information on the subjects life before this job, also outside people talking about the person. It really does give us all of the information we want to know and it’s also not that long which I enjoyed as well.
Overall a very good article, however the only thing I thought may have been a bit odd is that they put his salary in the article. Maybe some people want that specific of information, for me I just thought it was maybe unnecessary.
Some people would like to know his salary. Their taxes pay his salary. And because he is a public employee, we can know what he’s paid.
It’s shorter than what I would have expected, but he has been in the job for a while, so maybe not a lot new to report.
