This Monday, 24 year old Hamilton Veliz-Cantor was sentenced to 10 years in prison for stabbing a man during an attempted robbery.

Hamilton pleaded guilty in Woodbury County court to second degree robbery. The charges he received of going armed with intent and willful injury were dismissed in the case as a part of his plea agreement. Veliz-Cantor must serve five years before he is eligible for parole.

Veliz-Cantor stabbed a man that he had been following home after he had demanded the man for money and he rejected. Hamilton opened up a 14-inch cut across the mans head that thankfully was not life threatening

I enjoy this article because It gives you this whole persons life in the criminal justice system without all of the little details. It is more formed in a broader sense but to me I really enjoy it that way. Whoever wrote the article gave us: The crime, where the crime was, the sentence, parole option, and name of suspect.

I agreed with the writers choice of not adding the victims name into this passage as well. Overall I think that this was a well formulated article.

Plea agreements in cases like this really suck.
