There are many solutions to food waste and how to properly recycle them so climate change can be fought.
Somini Sengupta says that states across the country are passing different laws to help eliminate food waste from overfilling landfills.
When food is wasted or thrown away and dumped into the landfill, it produces methane which is a very potent gas. If the right steps were taking when throwing away garbage, we would eliminate and lot of reckless pollution around the world that causes climate change.
This article gives many different ways to recycle trash and help decrease the amount of toxic gas that is released per year. Some options are: a local municipal program, community drop off points, or even a self made compost station at home.
