Former South Sioux City High assistant coach Nathan Rogers was sentenced to 15 years of federal prison time for the production of child pornography.

Rogers first conviction was back in March on the charge of sexual assault of a child less than 15 years old at the high school he worked at. The report says that she went to Rogers home to pick up a vape pen when he forced himself onto her, this was in December of that same year.

Police had seized his phone and found 23 videos of illegal sexual conduct between him and a different minor who was also only 15 years old at the time, she also attended the high school he had worked at.

Rogers pleaded guilty to the charges and in addition to his 15 year sentence in federal prison, Rogers will also have to pay 3,000$ to a victims assistance fund and serve five years of supervised release when his sentence ends.

Nathan Rogers’ as well as his attorney did not respond to the emails sent out by the World Herald who were trying to see if they had any comments on the matter.

I thought that this article did a very nice job at being direct and not skimping around with the details. It told us his charge and what for, it also established when and where it happened.

I know the article says that they did not respond to the emails and comment on the matter, however I wish that they would have possibly added any quotes from the court hearing or maybe some of the testimonies. Unfortunately not a lot of quotes in this article but still a good one in my opinion

  1. Court cases involving minors are not going to allow a lot of info to get out. It is interesting the OWH is covering this. A bit out of their news area.
