South Iowa City man killed in accident

A server crash yesterday morning left one man killed, another in critical condition, and two more injured.

The crash site, two miles east of Sioux City on Hwy. 28 involved two vehicles. Moyer Quick of South Iowa City, 65, died on scene and Randy Radlin of Swan Lake, 17, was transported to the hospital.

Other victims were Dorthy Quick, 61, and Maxine Steuerwald of Lawton, 43. Maxine is discovered to be Dorthys sister visiting from Lawton. Both are scheduled for release from the hospital.

Dorothy is reported in “good” condition, Maxine is in “fair” condition, and Radlin is listed as “critical,” with a fractured skull and internal injuries. 

Quick was passing Radlin goes west on the two-lane highway when Radlin merged to quickly and struck the back-end of Radlin’s truck.

The collision sent both vehicles into the ditch at a high rate of speed. Quicks vehicle took more damage than Radlin’s truck did.

Further information has now been found about the accident. The autopsy of Quick showed he had a heart attack which may have been the first cause of the accident.

The accident happened under a cloudy sky with a dry, clear road. The accident is still under investigation by South Iowa Highway Patrolman, Patric Stewart.
